The Six-Billion Dollar Question

Science is on the verge of a breakthrough. CERN's Large Hadron Collider is set to go live in a few months. Will they find the elusive Higgs Boson? Super symmetry? I think they will...

Of course, the so called 'God' particle will raise more questions than it can answer. But this will be a vital step towards unification. The final piece to the puzzle? maybe not, but at least a piece that completes a large part of the picture. Maybe the graviton and quantum gravity will finally have a place with the other three forces finally. A theory of everything that has been sought for so long might finally live up to its name. Amen LHC. *fingers crossed*

The most expensive scientific experiment to date-to understand the universe-takes off today.
But it's not the end of the WORLD , I assure..

I sure hope that it will not disrupt to much the balance of things. Recreate that type of particule sounds disruptive.

ummm... there's a no recreation of a particle... if the particle exists... the LHC will merely help us detect it... One must not give credit to what is essentially irresponsible journalism and think that the world's going to blow up...

Anyway, anks, an update would be nice... the LHC is up and running... Rejoice!! the time of subatomic particle fornication is upon us!! :-D

P.S: Attended a talk yesterday on Dark Energy... The guy is a Padmashri winner... Awesome talk!! He's worked on the LHC project also.. brilliant dude.. T. Padmanabhan (from IUCAA, Pune)... look him up...

The theory of everything was what Einstein was tryin to do. i wonder if the equation for everything will be as simple as E=MC2
